The Edge Hits 250,000 ‘Likes’ Milestone

The Edge radio brand is celebrating a social media milestone. The Edge Network Facebook community now has more than a quarter of a million fans, making The Edge the first media channel in New Zealand to achieve this level of social media reach.

MediaWorks Group Head of Consumer Engagement, Cate Owen says: “It’s because of fan engagement that we can pull off successful escapades like Lost in a Box, The Social Games, and Love You Man, all of which starred, and were often controlled by, our fans. Their commitment to The Edge is what makes these campaigns some of the biggest and most effective in the country.”

MediaWorks Radio Group Content Director, Leon Wratt says: “The Edge has had a record-breaking year, and there’s no doubt the loyal, engaged audiences that tunes in to top music and personalities like Jay-Jay, Mike and Dom on whatever platform or device they prefer is absolutely key to that success. It’s great to be celebrating another milestone!”

The Edge was named Station of the Year and Broadcaster of the Year at the 2014 NZ Radio Awards.

The Edge is the #1 radio station in New Zealand with 465,300 listeners tuning in each week*; the #1 music television channel with 1.2 million viewers each month**; and the #1 website with 990,000 unique views each month.***
