Nomads Queenstown voted number one accommodation choice

Popular backpacker’s hostel Nomads Queenstown has been voted number one accommodation choice in New Zealand at this year’s Adventure Travel Awards.

The Adventure Travel Awards are Australia and New Zealand’s newest and best tourism awards for the youth and adventure tourism industry. Thirty three awards were handed out in Sydney recently, following an eight-week campaign.

Nomads Queenstown was voted ‘Best Accommodation – New Zealand’ after around 30,000 votes were received.

Nomads Queenstown General Manager Aimee Jeffrey said the company was “absolutely delighted” with the award win.

“We’re very proud to be voted the best of the best for accommodation in New Zealand. Visitors keep coming back to Nomads as it’s more than just a place to stay,” said Ms Jeffrey.

“Our fun and friendly staff line up guests with awesome activities in and around Queenstown, and its central location in the heart of the town means going out to enjoy the town’s bars, restaurants and nightlife couldn’t be easier.”

Once guests have checked in, they become part of the Nomads family, accessing great rates for onward travel across our network of accommodation.”

Located in the heart of Queenstown, Nomads opened in 2009 and has become an increasingly popular choice for backpackers and travellers visiting the resort. Purpose-built and designed with budget travellers in mind, Nomads has a variety of room choices from small and large dorms with or without ensuite, to private ensuite rooms with widescreen plasma Sky TV and fridges.

Nomads Queenstown is no stranger to winning awards. Accolades already under its belt include ‘Best Hostel in New Zealand’ at the Golden Backpack Awards in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013, second ‘Best Large Hostel in the World’ at the HOSCARS in 2013, and ‘Best Staff’ voted by Hostelbooker.com in 2014.

The company also won Silver earlier this month for ‘Best Accommodation on the Kiwi Experience circuit’ as voted by Kiwi Experience's own passengers.

Nomads Queenstown is part of Nomads World Hostel Ltd, owning, managing or leasing 13 properties across Australia and New Zealand, and selling over 600,000 beds annually.
