Fairfax Media appoints new editor of Stuff.co.nz
Fairfax Media continues its editorial momentum with the appointment of Patrick Crewdson as Editor of Stuff.co.nz.
Mark Stevens, Fairfax Media Group Digital Editor, says Crewdson brings extensive news management and leadership skills to the role.
"Patrick is first and foremost a top-notch journalist. But he also has a proven track record as a newsroom leader and I’m thrilled to have him in the top job at Stuff."
Crewdson’s appointment follows an extensive recruitment process that drew a high calibre of candidates from New Zealand and overseas.
He has previously held reporting positions at both The Dominion Post and the Herald on Sunday before moving into leadership roles at Fairfax Media, including Head of News in Wellington. Most recently he was News Editor at Stuff.
Stuff attracts the largest audience of any news site in New Zealand. As well as Stuff's #1 position in the market, it also won Best News Site at both the Canon Media Awards and the NetGuide Web Awards this year.
Crewdson says the Stuff editorship is a dream job.
"I’m thrilled to have the chance to lead Stuff, and to continue to deliver excellent journalism - whether that’s across news, lifestyle, business or sport.”
Crewdson takes up the appointment immediately.
