Vega Appoints Former Tait Exec as CEO
Arjen Maarleveld, former Global Operations Manager for Tait Communications, has joined Vega as the new Chief Executive Officer for the Wellington-based company.
Vega, a global leader in design and production of marine navigational aids, exports around 80% of its products and has a global reputation for superior navigational solutions, providing safe guidance around some of the world’s most dangerous waterways.
“It is fantastic to join another New Zealand company that has achieved a world-leading position in a highly specialised sector, backed by skilled engineering and technological innovation,” says Arjen.
With significant global experience in the field of high-tech product development, strategy and business development, Arjen will be focused on building the firm’s capability in high volume products within its existing markets in North America, UK, Europe and South America.
Arjen’s previous experience includes leading Tait’s global product development and management, including programmes for mission critical mobile solutions such as Saas and cloud based smart device applications.
Prior to Tait he was Managing Director at NSI Europe where he designed and managed strategy, marketing, technology and organisational projects for high-tech companies and investment organisations.
Along with senior management roles in business and product development with Telecom (Spark), Alcatel and Apple in New Zealand, Arjen has held senior roles in technology companies globally ranging from Silicon Valley startups to private and public companies.
