Free business events online calendar for Hawke’s Bay

Free business events online calendar for Hawke’s Bay

Any Hawke’s Bay business or training organisation that offers professional or business events can now promote these free of charge online.

Business Hawke’s Bay (BHB), the region’s business-led economic development agency, saw a need for one centralised spot for business people wanting to learn about training and networking opportunities. Go to www.businesshawkesbay.co.nz/events and on display will be such events from Wairoa to Waipukurau.

“Currently business people have to search multiple websites to identify relevant events targeting business. Our events calendar is specifically for business skills and professional development training, and business networking. It will provide an easy way for business people to tap into the range of events specifically on offer for them. It should also make it easier for organisations scheduling events,” says Susan White, CEO of Business Hawke’s Bay.

Events are registered through http://www.eventfinder.co.nz/ and already organisations such as the Crowe Horwath, the Icehouse and National Horticultural Field Day are using the Events Calendar in addition to their own databases, to spread the word of their events and training opportunities.

The site gives details of the events and directs the reader to the website of the organisation involved for more information and registration. There is also an option for event ticketing to be handled through Eventfinda for those organisations that don’t have their own online payment facilities.

“We are simply providing the central point,” says Mrs White. “The organisations themselves determine what information they put up, and handle all aspects so they remain in total control.”

Usage of the Events calendar will be monitored over the next 12 months to determine if it becomes a permanent fixture of the BHB website.

BHB is promoting the site to the local business community through direct marketing, social media and media publicity. In the short-term, it will also promote specific events through its own Facebook and LinkedIn pages to raise awareness of the service and the events on offer.
