Forming part of the National Yearling Sales
Series for the second time in its new April timeslot, this
year’s Sale will take place at the Canterbury Agricultural

Last year’s successful edition attracted a catalogue of 177 horses, over double the number of entries from the previous year, with over $1.1m grossed at the Sale at an increased average.
As part of the National Yearling Sales Series, yearlings sold and passed in at the South Island Session are eligible to be entered in the lucrative Karaka Million Series, including the $1m Karaka Million – New Zealand’s richest race – in 2016, the $250,000 Karaka 3YO Mile in 2017, and the $100,000 Karaka Stayers Cup for the rest of their racing careers.
Entries are also welcome for two-year-olds, raced & unraced stock, broodmares, and stallion shares.
