AMP appoints Elaine Campbell as new General Legal

Leading life insurer and retirement savings provider, AMP has today announced the appointment of Elaine Campbell to the role of General Legal Counsel. The appointment follows an internal move which has seen Therese Singleton take on the role of General Manager Insurance and Investments and will see her responsible for the Strategic Partnership, Wealth Management, Group Wealth Protection and Individual Wealth Protection Product teams.
Elaine’s appointment is effective mid-May and she will be based in the Auckland office. Elaine will be responsible for leading AMP’s legal and compliance function, as well as steering the organisation through the regulatory change programme facing the New Zealand financial services industry.
Elaine’s extensive experience has included senior positions at a number of organisations, including Russell McVeagh, NZX Limited, New Zealand Markets Disciplinary Tribunal and most recently the Financial Markets Authority as Director, Compliance. During her career, Elaine has lead major transformational programmes, including the development and implementation of supervisory and licensing regulation for financial market participants.
Commenting on the appointment, Jack Regan, Managing Director of AMP New Zealand says “I am delighted to welcome Elaine to AMP and to my leadership team. Elaine’s extensive leadership and stakeholder management experience, along with her robust and deep industry knowledge, will be a great addition to AMP.”
