International Trade Ties Set To Strengthen
Trade Ties NZ Limited has been established to support New Zealand’s international trade. The company is owned by former Belgian Hon. Consul in Christchurch Mr Guy Faes, and former Trade Commissioner and Hon. Vice-Consul of Belgium, Mr Andrew Williams.
“We have combined many decades experience in international trade, media, logistics, government and diplomatic relations.” say the directors.
“Commissioning international trade ties is the basis of our company. Bringing people and companies together from different parts of the world who are interested in developing commercial links with New Zealand.’
Trade Ties NZ Limited provides a range of services including trade development, market research, strategic planning, contact introductions, government relations, representation, product launches, tourism connections, media liaison, trade fair participation and logistics advice.
Company Director Guy Faes, based in Christchurch, was a Belgian film and television producer/director in Belgium before immigrating to New Zealand. Guy directed the Belgian Teleon economic TV programme and he was the Belgian representative within a European Union program called “Prometheus” from 1999 until 2002 providing links with European media and business circles.
“Trade Ties will be doing all it can to identify opportunities during the lengthy Christchurch rebuilding exercise such as new technologies, smart urban products, and clever design ideas.” says Guy Faes.
Andrew Williams, based in Auckland and Taupo, was in international trade, shipping and logistics for some 30 years before being Mayor of North Shore City and a Member of Parliament. Andrew was the Founding President of the NZ-Europe Business Council, and has an extensive national and international network of connections.
“I see so much untapped potential between New Zealand and many markets. Our ‘rock star economy’ needs to capitalise far more on international connections in Europe, Asia, North and South America” says former trade commissioner Andrew Williams.
