Nova Seeking Expressions Of Interest For New Power Station

Nova Energy Limited is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from parties interested in a build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) contract for a new 100 megawatt gas-fired power station.

Nova is looking at options to develop its generation portfolio to ensure it continues to meet its customer energy demand and a BOOT contract is one of several options available to the company. The EOI will assist Nova to refine and consider innovative options to develop its generation portfolio and contribute to security of supply for New Zealand energy users.

One of the options is to progress a well advanced project for the construction of a 100 MW open cycle gas turbine (OCGT) power plant located on green fields land owned by Nova at Junction Road, New Plymouth. As well as having the required consents in place, Nova has completed some preliminary engineering work. Alternatively, existing plant or generation assets could be used.

The contract, could require the successful company or organisation to:

• Build the power station,

• Commission and operate for a maximum 10 years under contract to Nova Energy,

• Transfer the power station to Nova Energy ownership after a minimum operating period.

Companies or organisations interested in receiving the EOI should contact Nova Energy atjrdadmin@novaenergy.co.nz
