Workplace Health Front And Centre for Auckland Employers

Workplace Health, Safety And Wellness Front And Centre for Auckland Employers

New Zealand’s most comprehensive workplace health and safety specialist has expanded its national footprint to meet growing demand from Auckland employers.

The fast-growing TriEx has recently purchased Auckland’s occupational health and safety consultancy B Safe in order to be able to provide a more comprehensive service to the region.

TriEx employs more than 45 people nationwide delivering a range of occupational health, workplace safety, occupational hygiene and workplace wellness services.

“Employers are increasingly aware of their responsibilities to provide a working environment that reflects the expectations of a modern workforce,” said Managing Director, Sarah O’Connell.

“Many of the healthy and safety services we provide are mandated through law and form an essential part of the contract between employers and employees to deliver appropriate work environments,” said Sarah.

“But many of the other health and wellness services that employers are contracting from us are also important parts of company’s staff recruitment and retention policies.

“Staff access to services such as advice on cardio-vascular health, free flu vaccines coaching and counselling is increasingly part of the culture of organisations that want to attract and retain the best employees,” she said.

TriEx is New Zealand’s most comprehensive provider of Health, Safety and Occupational Hygiene services and has been operating for 29 years.

The merger of B Safe and TriEx will provide an ongoing strong presence in South Auckland and reach into the wider Auckland market.

“The expansion of our operations also prepares the company for the impending changes to the 1992 Health and Safety Act are made via the Health and Safety Reform Bill,” said O’Connell.

“These will be the first major changes to health and safety legislation in years. They are expected to come into force later in 2015, and the New Zealand workforce from Directors to newly appointed apprentices are going to have to adjust their practices to reflect the new legislation.

“TriEx expects the sector to be extremely busy when those changes are implemented so having additional resource from the team at B Safe will be important in meeting that demand in Auckland,” she said.
