TAIC investigating air traffic control incident
The Transport Accident Investigation Commission has opened an inquiry into yesterday afternoon’s air traffic control incident (on Tuesday, 23 June 2015).
The purpose of the inquiry will be to identify the circumstances and causes of the incident with a view to helping reduce the possibility of a recurrence.
A team of three investigators has begun the initial evidence gathering, working with the Airways Corporation and Civil Aviation Authority.
While the Commission aims for an average inquiry duration of 18 months, it has the ability to issue safety recommendations at any time should the need arise.
