Qantas Adds More Flights From NZ And Santiago Over Holiday Seasons

Qantas will add more flights from New Zealand and Santiago to Australia to cater for increased demand over upcoming peak holiday seasons.

Qantas Regional Manager New Zealand and South America, Igor Kwiatkowski, said that the airline was pleased to add around 7,300 more seats across the Tasman, and almost 8,400 more seats between Santiago and Sydney.

“The extra seasonal services deliver on our strategy of offering a more dynamic schedule to provide customers with more choice at the time of year they want to travel,” said Mr Kwiatkowski.

44 supplementary trans-Tasman services

· Qantas will operate an additional 44 services across the Tasman between 16 September and 11 October 2015.*

· The services will operate with a B737 aircraft** on the following routes and on varied dates, based on customer demand:

o Auckland - Brisbane (6 return services)
o Auckland - Melbourne (2 return services)
o Auckland - Sydney (13 return services)
o Wellington - Melbourne (1 return service)

Qantas operates more than 200 flights per week between New Zealand and Australia, including services between Auckland and Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane; Wellington and Melbourne; and Christchurch and Sydney.

An increase to five return services per week from Santiago to Sydney

· Qantas will increase its services from Santiago to Sydney from four to five per week from early November through to late January 2016. *

· The additional QF28/27 service will operate on Sundays from 8 November 2015 to 24 January 2016, inclusive.

Together, Qantas and oneworld partner LAN operate 11 services per week from Chile to Australia. Qantas operates four Boeing 747 services per week year-round (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday) and codeshares on LAN’s daily services between Santiago and Auckland.
