Filling the bellies of those most in need
Auckland 25 June 2015
Filling the bellies of those most in need.
During the month of July, for every packet of Little Angels Pure Baby food sold, Little Angels will donate a packet of food to the Little Sprouts Charity, a charity that gives Free life changing packs full of quality essential items to babies in real need.
Heather Baker, Owner and Product Developer of Little Angels, said, “During the winter months it is so important that infants and toddlers are getting the nutrition they need. With so many families struggling in New Zealand our most vulnerable are often missing out on the quality nutritious food they need, to stay healthy”.
She said that when starting Little Angels, the goal was to make healthy, beautiful tasting baby food that every NZ parent could feed their babies. We have mostly achieved that, except for the 'every parent' bit. The reality is that New Zealand is an expensive place to manufacture, and we are constantly torn between only wanting to support suppliers who provide us organic, sustainable, quality ingredients and needing things at a reasonable price so that everyone can afford to buy our products. Because of the decisions we made on quality and ingredients, we know there are lots of families who sadly can't afford it.”
“To give back and to recognise the dreams we had from the beginning, we have decided that for the month of July, we are going to donate one pack of Little Angels baby food to the Little Sprouts charity for every pack we sell,”said Baker.
Little Sprouts create packs for babies to ensure they are kept warm, safe and healthy, these are distributed through existing organisations that are helping families. This includes the Women’s Refuge, Barnados, Red Cross Refugee Services, the Family Start programmes, Naku Enei Tamariki Inc., the Salvation Army, The House of Grace home for pregnant teens, Birthright and the Neonatal Trust.
