Final Board of Inquiry decision
Final Board of Inquiry decision
The Chairman of the Hawke’s Bay Regional Council’s Investment Company, HBRIC Ltd says it is pleased to be at the end of the Board of Inquiry decision process on the Tukituki Plan Change and consent conditions for the Ruataniwha Water Storage Scheme.
The Board today released its final decision, with submitters allowed 15 working days to appeal. HBRIC Ltd Chairman Andy Pearce says it is good to be getting some finality in what has been an extremely long and involved process.
“HBRIC Ltd acknowledges the Board’s effort in resolving what is a challenging and complex set of issues. The Board has ensured all parties have had the opportunity to provide input at every step along the process and has taken into account all the competing points of view.” says Dr Pearce
He says HBRIC Ltd is confident the consents are workable and it can now commit fully to the investment, water uptake and development with confirmed consenting obligations.
“HBRIC Ltd is keen to see the Ruataniwha Water Storage Scheme play its part in achieving what the board envisages in its decision, including smart irrigation, innovation on farm and an ongoing commitment to best farm environmental management practices,” says Dr Pearce.
