ARANZ Geo executive awarded Prime Minister’s Business Scholarship

CHRISTCHURCH, 17 July 2015 – A Prime Minister’s Business Scholarship has been awarded to ARANZ Geo’s Global Sales and Channel Director Nick Fogarty. ARANZ Geo, headquartered in Christchurch, is a world leader in the interpretation and visualisation of geological data for the mining, environmental, renewable energy and other geologically dependent industries.

Twelve senior executives and business owners have been given the opportunity to attend the world’s most prestigious business schools after receiving Prime Minister’s Business Scholarships.

The scholarships were announced by Economic Development Minister Steven Joyce and aim to allow New Zealand’s top executives to expand their international expertise and grow their business skills to make New Zealand firms more internationally competitive.

Recipients will study at a range of top international institutions such as the London Business School, Harvard Business School, INSEAD (The Business School for the World), and Harvard Business School.

Mr Fogarty plans to attend London Business School’s prestigious Senior Executive Programme.

Mr Fogarty says, “It’s a real honour to be a recipient of a Prime Minister’s scholarship alongside such a talented group of people from some great high growth companies. I’m looking forward to being exposed to world class knowledge and developing new networks that will help drive company growth.”

By ensuring we’re competitive internationally, we not only grow the company but we make a positive impact on the economy.”

ARANZ Geo is known globally as the developer of Leapfrog® 3D geological modelling solutions (www.leapfrog3d.com) for the mining, exploration, groundwater contamination, and geothermal energyindustries. The very first geological modelling tool of its kind, Leapfrog now sets the standard in geological modelling and is relied on by the top ten mining and exploration firms to enable better decision making. Subsidiary company QG serves the mining consultancy market.

Mr Maloney says, “We now sell software to over 50 countries and our global footprint includes a Christchurch-based HQ and R&D centre and offices in Asia/Pacific, Africa, South America, North America and Europe. We’re continuing to grow rapidly and we’re seeing some great traction in our newer markets such as Russia, Brasil, Peru, Turkey and Mexico.”

This is the sixth year the scholarships have been awarded. The study programmes range from 4 weeks to 20 months and funding covers up to 50 percent of course-related costs.
