Resident Joins Lexus

Auckland’s progressive design and manufacturing company, Resident, has joined Lexus New Zealand as a brand partner.

“Resident’s design philosophy, and their innovative approach to engineering and craftsmanship has a strong connection to Lexus’ production values.” said Andrew Davis, Lexus New Zealand’s General Manager of Marketing. “We are looking forward to working with the Resident team, and the opportunities to connect the two brands.”

Lexus is working closely with Resident on an exclusive Lexus nationwide customer event scheduled to run over October and November this year, in conjunction with unveiling new Lexus vehicles.

Simon James, Resident’s Creative Director, believes the recent collaboration is not only timely and significant for New Zealand design but also has great ability to propel one another to new heights.

“The Resident brand, like Lexus, is a developed and refined sense of design tailored to customers who want authentic things in their life.”

Resident is a global company focused on exporting New Zealand design to the world, with distribution hubs in Auckland, London and Los Angeles.

The Resident collective is a select group of designers who combine an authentic blend of design craft, engineering and innovation to produce a refined collection of furniture and lighting. The high quality materials used result in iconic, practical and dependable products.

Lexus’ design philosophy is based around master craftsmanship, a passion for perfection and going beyond advanced technology and innovative processes.

“The way Resident talks about and describes its philosophy, products and processes could just as easily be a description of the way Lexus sees itself,” said Mr. Davis.
