Hawkins’ Growth Enhanced by International Hubs

Hawkins’ Growth Enhanced by International Hubs and Key Appointments

Already a major provider of infrastructure projects throughout New Zealand, Hawkins Infrastructure Limited (HIL) announced today that it will enhance its international foot print through the establishment of international hubs and key leadership appointments.

In addition to crucial New Zealand projects such as the Auckland City Rail Link, the refurbishment of Wellington Airport and the rebuilding of key Canterbury infrastructure, HIL is undertaking energy, marine, airport, roads and other high profile infrastructure projects in Fiji, Papua New Guinea and Indonesia, and will soon begin work in Vanuatu.

Hawkins Infrastructure will open its Singapore office later this year, with an ambition to secure further opportunities throughout South East Asia and in the Middle East and East Africa.

“The growth of Hawkins Infrastructure, as part of Hawkins Group, has been exponential over the last 24 months due to the number of key contracts it has sought and won both here and in new markets overseas,” said Hawkins Infrastructure Executive General Manager, Brian FitzGerald.

“The new management structure moves the Infrastructure business away from centralised operations to establishing regional hubs with responsibility for the local market, project delivery and financial performance.”

Former Operations Manager for Hawkins Infrastructure Ben Lawlor has been appointed Pre-Contracts and Strategy Manager.

Current General Manager of Harker Underground Construction Rory Bishop has been appointed General Manager for HIL’s New Zealand Operations and Harker. Rory previously worked for McConnell Dowell.

Former HIL Business Development General Manager James Hawkes, has been appointed Regional Manager, Singapore and will establish HIL’s office there to service the region and the wider Middle East and Africa markets.

Glenn Houpapa, formally of Leighton Contractors, has been appointed Regional Manager, Pacific, excluding Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands.

“The decision to split the region and employ Glenn reflects Hawkins’ confidence in the growth opportunities in the Pacific and the need for dedicated leadership to support the infrastructure requirements of our quickly developing neighbours.”

Hawkins will establish a Port Moresby Office in the near future.

“We have built on the company’s rich knowledge and track record and have mostly appointed people from within our existing team to ensure we have Australasia’s best practitioners to grow our expertise and take the Hawkins brand further into the global market,” said Mr FitzGerald.
