Chemical expert latest recruit to join James & Wells’ Auckland office

National intellectual property specialists James & Wells are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Zhi Ling Zeng, who has recently joined the ranks of their patents team as an Associate.

Zhi Ling’s expertise and experience within the chemical, biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors is also an asset to the firm’s Asia Division.

Her experience as a patent attorney in China not only complements the knowledge base of the team and the wider firm, it strengthens the level of connections James & Wells have to facilitate business between New Zealand and the greater Chinese region.

A registered patent attorney in both New Zealand and Australia, Zhi Ling is also familiar with the intricacies of Chinese patent law having practiced in a large international patent and trade mark firm based in China.

She has also worked in Australia as a patent and trade mark attorney, and Singapore as a patent attorney.

Zhi Ling has a PhD in bioanalytical chemistry from the University of Queensland, a Master of Industrial Property from the University of Technology of Sydney, and a Bachelor of Science majoring in biochemistry and chemistry from the University of Western Australia.

Zhi Ling keeps active by playing badminton and tennis, and enjoys watching art-house films and getting lost in a good book.
