Radius Care adds another Tauranga facility to portfolio

RADIUS CARE ADDS ANOTHER TAURANGA FACILITY TO PORTFOLIO

October 15th, 2015

New Zealand’s largest privately owned aged care provider Radius Care has acquired Althorp Hospital, a long-running retirement facility based in Tauranga, to bring its total number of facilities to 21.

Althorp is a popular facility with long-standing staff and an excellent reputation. As such, Radius Care Managing Director Brien Cree said the purchase of the facility was a very sound investment that would add to the successful performance of Radius Care as a group.

“We’re thrilled to be adding Althorp to our portfolio of facilities and we’re confident that Althorp has the potential to run even more effectively under our management,” Mr Cree said. “Our vision as an organisation is to inject good old-fashioned kiwi values into aged care, so we’re very pleased that Althorp has been sold to a New Zealand-owned, private aged care provider, rather than to one of the larger overseas aged care companies,” he said.

The latest acquisition comes two years after Radius Care purchased another Tauranga facility, Matua Hospital, which has been running smoothly under Radius management.

Radius Care has residential care facilities across New Zealand and has continued to grow and expand since Mr Cree spear-headed a break away from Radius Health Group.
