EBOS Group takes top prize at Deloitte Top 200 Awards

EBOS Group is proud to have been recognised as Company of the Year at the 2015 Deloitte Top 200 Awards, presented at the Vector Arena in Auckland last night.

Founded in Christchurch in 1922, EBOS is one of New Zealand’s oldest companies. It has grown to become the largest and most diversified Australasian marketer, wholesaler and distributor of healthcare, medical and pharmaceutical products and a leading marketer and distributor of animal care products.

EBOS Chairman Mark Waller said the award reflected the strong performance of the Board, management and employees of the Group.

“EBOS has grown from small beginnings to be New Zealand's third-largest company, at NZ$6.1 billion in revenue for the June 2015 year,” Mr Waller said.

“Led by a small executive team and backed by strong staff involvement, it has built market leading positions in New Zealand and Australia and rewarded shareholders consistently for more than 20 years.

“Importantly, the Group’s unique culture and proven strategy remains in place under the new executive team which was built through careful succession planning.”

EBOS Group Chief Executive Officer Patrick Davies welcomed the award on behalf of the executive team and staff.

“It’s extremely heartening to be named Company of the Year and it is a credit to all our staff across the Group who make EBOS such a successful business,” Mr Davies said.“There is every reason for us to look to the future with confidence. As noted at the company’s Annual Meeting last month, we have made a positive start to the year, with both our long-term businesses and those recently acquired performing well.

“Moving forward, we will continue to grow our existing businesses and expand our portfolio through targeted acquisitions.”

The Deloitte Top 200 Awards recognise the outstanding performances of individuals and management teams from New Zealand’s largest companies and trading organisations.

The Company of the Year Award recognises the best organisational performance from the previous year, based on the latest financial measures and on non-financial and other qualitative performance measures.
