Centralines Announces Discount for Customers

Friday 27 November 2015 - Central Hawke’s Bay consumer-owned lines company, Centralines, has this week declared a $1.2 million discount for its customers, on the back of a solid result for the 2014/15 financial year.

Central Hawke’s Bay Consumers’ Power Trust Chairman, Alistair Setter said the Trustees were pleased with the Company’s strong financial result and excellent network performance.

“The Trust is very happy with the performance of the Board and management of Centralines. The strong results highlight their continued commitment to delivering reliable and cost-effective electricity solutions to its customers.

“And as an integral part of the Central Hawke’ Bay community, we are delighted Centralines continues to support the region through the annual customer electricity discount, and through the sponsorship of our sporting and community organisations.”

Centralines Chairman, Sam Robinson, said the continued investment in developing and maintaining the network had also delivered for customers, through enhanced security of supply.

“Despite some challenging weather events, on average, customers have experienced two outages with an average duration of 141 minutes, which is lower than the previous year, and well below the targets set by the Commerce Commission for Centralines.

“This in part is the result of our ongoing robust vegetation management and overhead line maintenance programmes, which have been implemented over the last three years.”

The electricity discount will be passed on to retailers to apply to customers’ power accounts. Customers should see this discount appear on their power bill between December 2015 and January 2016.
