Qantas Opens Online Shopping Centre for NZ Frequent Flyers

Qantas Opens New (Online) Shopping Centre for NZ Frequent Flyers

30 November 2015, AUCKLAND: Qantas Frequent Flyer members in New Zealand have new opportunities to earn Qantas Points when shopping online, with the launch of the popular Qantas Online Mall just in time for Christmas.

The Online Mall, accessed through qantaspoints.com/nzonlinemall, gives members the ability to earn up to five points for every dollar they spend on well-known local and overseas brands.

It comes off the back of last month’s launch of the Qantas Cash prepaid travel money facility and the minimum points guarantee on the purchase of Jetstar domestic flights. It also follows the announcement that Qantas partner, American Airlines, will start flying from Auckland to Los Angeles, and ahead of the start of Jetstar regional services – more opportunities for New Zealanders to earn and use Qantas Points.

Launch retailers in the New Zealand market include NET-A-PORTER, Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Samsung, Apple Online Store, and the popular global online fashion house, THE ICONIC.

The total number of retailers on the New Zealand Online Mall is 22, with more to be introduced in coming months.

Qantas Loyalty CEO Lesley Grant said Qantas Frequent Flyer rewards are within reach for those who maximise points-earn across their everyday spend.

“Shopping through the Online Mall is a simple way to earn points and some of our retailers offer five points per dollar spent, so it can very quickly add up,” she said.

Ms Grant said that if the increasing number of New Zealand members pay with a Qantas Points-earning card to make their Online Mall purchases, they can effectively double-dip on Qantas Points.

“A growing number of New Zealand based members are exploring other ways to earn and use points and the success of the Online Mall in Australia is a great example of that, so we are excited to be launching it for our New Zealand based members.”

Frequent Flyers will find all the Online Mall retailers and their points’ earn rates, plus many other ways to maximise their points balance and get rewards at qantaspoints.com.

A special “double points” launch offer is now in place for members to earn bonus points on all purchases from now until Christmas Eve.
