Alpine Energy gains deeper insight into retailer billing with Axos Billing

Wellington, 2 March 2016 - Axos Systems is in the final stages of implementing Axos Billing, a cloud-based solution, for Alpine Energy to improve the transparency and accuracy of retailer billing and allow the network company to respond faster to market change. Axos Systems, an energy billing specialist, will continue to support the solution for Alpine Energy which owns and operates the electricity distribution network in South Canterbury.

An on-boarding application developed by Axos Systems is streamlining the data migration process, including historical invoices. Implementation is also aided by the new solution’s direct interface with the electricity registry.

“We sought a partner with proven experience in delivering energy billing solutions who could meet our immediate needs and also bring innovation to our business over the longer term,” says Sara Carter, General Manager – Commercial and Regulatory at Alpine Energy. “Axos Systems solved our specific network billing problem without asking us to over invest in redundant IT functionality.”

The Alpine Energy contract is the first network company win for Axos Systems since being established as a standalone entity in 2014. It already provides billing and data management services to niche and emerging retail market participants and has broad experience in New Zealand and overseas energy markets.

“Alpine Energy’s new solution will provide greater transparency into the billing system so they better understand their commercial relationships with retailers and most importantly their network consumers,” says Edward Falloon, CEO of Axos Systems. “We’ve provided flexibility in their billing system so innovative pricing models can be introduced as Alpine looks to improve its pricing signals to consumers through smart meter roll out, smart tariffs and targeted solutions to customers.”
