Beca announces new CFO

Beca announced today that Mark Fleming (currently the Group Finance Director) will be taking over the reins as Chief Financial Officer in April 2016, as part of Beca’s on-going planning for succession in senior leadership roles

CEO Greg Lowe said, “I am delighted to be able to welcome Mark as our next CFO during this very exciting time for our company and for our industry. In a period of rapid change across many economies in the Asia-Pacific region, Mark will bring a high level of analytical skill and strategic planning to the financial direction of the Beca Group in the next phase of our development.”

Mark will be succeeding Chye Heng, who has been the company’s CFO for 31 years. Chye has guided the strategic financial development of the Group from a small New Zealand practice to a large Asia-Pacific professional services consultancy that now employs more than 3,000 people in 12 countries. His steadfast financial stewardship has seen Beca develop as a successful international business through periods of both growth and volatility to deliver projects in more than 70 countries. Last year alone, Beca successfully delivered to clients in 45 countries in the Asia-Pacific and beyond.

“The Board and I are delighted that Chye will remain at the helm of the company’s legal department and that we will retain the benefit of his experience and wise counsel,” said Greg Lowe.

Mark Fleming is a Chartered Accountant, a Fellow of CPA Australia and the holder of a Masters in Commerce from the University of Auckland. He joined Beca in 1999 from a senior role in PwC and has been on Beca’s global executive team as Group Finance Director since 2013. Over the last few years, he has played an increasingly prominent role in Beca’s aspirations to grow its client base and service delivery across the wider Asia-Pacific marketplace.
