MyWave doubling Melbourne software development team

MyWave's Melbourne software hub expansion to include US and UK satellite appointments

Melbourne, 16 March 2016. Intelligent Assistant software company MyWave is doubling the size of its Melbourne software development team as customer implementations begin in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand.

MyWave’s Chief Technology Officer James Ladd says MyWave is hiring senior developers, technical leads, testers and project managers. Immediate appointments will be to MyWave’s Melbourne software development hub, with later appointments in the UK and US to support specific new customer implementations.

“Intelligent Assistants will quite literally change the way we live our lives,” James Ladd says. “Our Intelligent Assistant – Frank – controls a ground breaking platform now being rolled out to customers. We’re looking for brilliant developers who want to be part of the IA revolution and make a real difference – giving users control of their data and unprecedented power and simplicity in making choices and managing their daily lives.”

New hires, he says, will be senior developers, technical leads, testers, and project managers working to build out the MyWave Platform, Frank, and provide 3rd Party Extension support – as well as participating in R&D activities.

MyWave’s CMR (customer managed relationship) platform is built using a highly scalable CQRS/ES architecture deployed to the cloud (AWS) and accessed by Frank on mobile, tablet and desktop. MyWave’s platform also supports 3rd Party Extensions that can be developed by independent developers and deployed to the CMR platform using the App Store model.

The ideal new hire, James Ladd says, will have taken applications from inception through to production and implementation. They will have used multiple languages including one or more of Ruby, Java and JavaScript and Smalltalk. They will understand the importance of Test Driven Development (TDD) and Pairing, and demonstrate a sound and proven understanding of Object Oriented Design. Experience with React, Flux or Angular is an advantage.

Ladd says MyWave’s culture fosters creative collaboration. Experienced developers and designers lead their teams in a ‘no managers’ environment, and everyone is empowered to make decisions and work in an Agile manner with iterations and regular releases. Rotation between project teams on a regular basis ensures exposure to all parts of MyWave, including R&D activities.
