Guthrey Holdings Purchases Relaxing Journeys
Guthrey Holdings Ltd, the Christchurch based parent company of ANZCRO, Ski Express, Kirra Holidays, and the I-Site Queenstown have announced the company’s latest acquisition, the purchase of online New Zealand holiday company Relaxing Journeys.
Effective from 1 April 2016, Relaxing Journeys becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Guthrey Holdings, again expanding the parent company’s stable of New Zealand travel specialist brands.
The Relaxing Journeys business will be managed by Nick Guthrey. The company’s Operations Manager, Christine Goodger and her Auckland team will continue in their current roles, at Relaxing Journeys’ existing premises in Highbrook.
Campbell Harris, former Owner and Managing Director said that the purchase of Relaxing Journeys by such a well-respected industry stalwart as Guthrey Holdings was a positive step for the company and its suppliers.
“Joining forces with Guthrey Holdings will ensure that Relaxing Journeys continues its close relationships with our valued suppliers and that our hard working Operations and Consulting team remains in place to ensure Relaxing Journeys continues to grow into the future,” he said.
"On a personal note, I'd like to thank those hoteliers, B&B owners, activity providers and coach operators who have supported us over the last decade,” said Mr Harris.
“Inbound travel to New Zealand is in a good place at the moment, but it's during the down-swings when you really get to know who the decent operators are in this industry. I'd like to thank you and to wish you all the very best into the future. I'll see you around!” he added.
Owen Eagles, Managing Director of ANZCRO, welcomed Relaxing Journeys to Guthrey’s New Zealand tourism stable, noting that he had long admired Campbell’s development and management of Relaxing Journeys, which has grown into a significant and successful online inbound operator for the New Zealand tourism industry.
