Cardrona Renames Chairlift in Innovative Growth Scheme

Cardrona Renames Chairlift in Innovative New Growth & Retention Scheme

Cardrona Alpine Resort has entered into an exciting new corporate partnership with FindSomeone, New Zealand’s largest premium dating site. The partnership is a key element of Cardrona’s innovative new growth and retention scheme for snow sports in New Zealand.

Among Cardrona’s many exciting developments for Winter 2016, is the renaming of their busiest chairlift, Whitestar Express. The lift will now be known as the FindSomeone Love Express, linked with the introduction of Cardrona’s new FindSomeone dating event.

FindSomeone.co.nz is New Zealand’s biggest dating site with over 400,000 members. Their new partnership with Cardrona is set to expand on their reputation of bringing people together, with the introduction of the “FindSomeone Singles Lines”. Usually on a ski field, the singles line is used on busy days to fill chairlift seats with people skiing or snowboarding by themselves to make the queue move faster.

The two new FindSomeone Singles Lines, on opposite sides of the lift queue, will connect lonely hearts on their own chair. Two single people will get the chance to “speed date” on the 4.5 minute chairlift ride to the top of the mountain. At the top of the Love Express, couples have the option to continue skiing or snowboarding together, or politely say goodbye as they get off the chair.

The singles lines are part of Cardrona’s commitment to growth and retention for skiing and snowboarding, with the firm belief that this growth will come from within snow sport circles.

“We believe that this new partnership will be Cardrona’s way of helping future-proof snow sport participation numbers by matching couples who both ski or snowboard,” says Cardrona’s General Manager Bridget Legnavsky.

In celebration of the new partnership, Cardrona have also extended their Earlybird season pass sale for an extra day, finishing at midnight April 1st.

Cardrona hope the new initiative will bring their guests closer together, and create a new level of

community on the mountain. For more information on the lift renaming and singles lines at Cardrona, visit www.cardrona.com/love-express.
