Kumara Fusion founder puts ambitious plans in place

KUMARA FUSION FOUNDER PUTS AMBITIOUS PLANS IN PLACE FOR EXPANSION OF GROUND-BREAKING DELI PRODUCT

Kumara Fusion is fast making a name for itself among Kiwis looking for a healthy, tasty alternative to sugar-laden pastes and dips. The naturally sweet, low-fat kumara blend was launched last month and is quickly being taken up by more and more New Zealand supermarkets.

The range is currently in almost 40 New World and Pak ‘n Save supermarkets. The goal is to be stocked by 100 stores within three months, and 130 by the end of the year – across both the North and South Islands.

Kumara Fusion has also recently been approved by Bidvest, so is now also available to food service customers.

“We’re thrilled with how well the products are going down with Kiwis,” says Kumara Fusion founder, Olga Martinez. “We are constantly being contacted by people wanting to see Kumara Fusion in their local supermarket so we’re working hard to get it into as many shops as possible.

“The opportunity for food service is very exciting as well. The pastes are so versatile – they could be used in anything from desserts, to soups, canapés and sauces. The fact that they’re tasty, without being unhealthy, will also be appreciated by diners, who are increasingly looking for more natural, sustainable ingredients in their meals.”

Packed in 130g tubs, Kumara Fusion offers a healthy, sophisticated alternative to other dips, pastes and spreads. It is dairy-free, gluten-free, nut-free, and contains no added preservatives or colours.

The full range includes Kumara Fusion Original, Kumara Fusion Honey, and Kumara Fusion Chocolate, which boasts a thick layer of Whittaker’s Dark Ghana Chocolate. RRP for Kumara Fusion products is $7.99 per 130g.
