Inaugural award winners for recruitment sector announced

The inaugural five winners of the RCSA (Recruitment and Consulting and Services Association) Awards Programme were announced in Auckland last evening.

Evenly spread from around New Zealand, the winners were:

· Shay Peters MRCSA, Director of Robert Walters (Wellington), was named the 2016 New Zealand PEARL (Professional Emerging & Aspiring Recruitment Leader) winner.

· Christchurch-based Sourced Limited took out the Excellence in Client Service Award.

· Legal Personnel (Auckland) balanced the books for the North Island, winning this year’s Excellence in Candidate Care Award.

· National company Hays was presented with the 2016 McLean Award for Workplace Safety.

· The Corporate Social Responsibility accolade went to Manpower Group.

John Harland, New Zealand Regional Chair of RCSA, said that the Inaugural RCSA Awards represent another milestone for members in a maturing recruitment industry, building on professional behaviours when dealing with candidates and clients.
“In particular, the growth of contracting as a viable career option will demand a greater level of ethical behaviour and compliance in the future, as many people look to have greater flexibility in their working lives,” he said.
RCSA members employ around 30,000 on-hire workers on a weekly basis and accordingly are a significant employer in New Zealand providing genuine pathways to permanent employment while also providing flexibility for those who want it.

“The inaugural awards highlight the emergence of the RCSA in New Zealand over the last five years with a growing collaboration within the industry and government agencies. The awards night provided a forum for the industry participants to come together, socialise and celebrate industry best practice, recognising that New Zealand has a unique work and government environment similar but different to that of Australia,” he said.
