Plain sailing through Governance compliance with new service

Plain sailing through Governance compliance with new service

New Practical Guidance module guides you through the ever-evolving requirements

AUCKLAND, May 30, 2016 – The time of the ‘sleeping director’ has pasted. Increased focus on corporate governance by governments and regulatory bodies means that compliance obligations are constantly changing and have never been more onerous. Events like the global financial crisis illustrate increasing emphasis on directors being held legally accountable when things go wrong. Legislative trends also illustrate increasing obligations being placed on directors, for example the recent changes to the Health and Safety at Work Act.

It is important that directors themselves have an understanding of their legal obligations, and for the governance professionals to be able to advise them on compliance with these obligations.

To meet the needs of Governance professionals and lawyers, LexisNexis has launched a new online resource: Practical Guidance Governance.

Practical Guidance Governance guides professionals through the legal obligations that arise in a governance context and how this law might apply practically to governance tasks (all demystified for a non-legal audience). Practical Guidance saves time by providing all the tools you need in one place - specialist commentary by experts in the field, handy guidance notes, overviews, cases, legislation, precedents, forms and checklists all help you access the required information faster and more easily. The service updates automatically to keep it current at all times.
