Lewis Road joins forces with Chelsea Winter

Lewis Road joins forces with Chelsea Winter for latest flavoured milk

Lewis Road Creamery has teamed up with one of New Zealand’s favourite foodies to develop its latest flavoured milk, which hits supermarket fridges nationwide from Wednesday (July 6).

Created in collaboration with Chelsea Winter, Lewis Road Creamery Fresh Double Caramel Milk blends Lewis Road Creamery’s pure, permeate-free whole milk and two distinct caramels - a deep, golden caramel and a butterscotch.

Chelsea and Lewis Road founder Peter Cullinane developed the recipe in the Lewis Road kitchen in small batches. It was then scaled for all of New Zealand to enjoy, without losing that special, home-made taste.

The final product uses only real, old-fashioned ingredients, so no numbers, artificial flavours, colours or preservatives.

“Chelsea was instrumental in helping us develop a taste profile for the milk that is both authentic and nostalgic,” says Peter.

“The idea to partner with her on this particular product was inspired by a recipe she created using our Sea Salt Crystal Premium Butter. Chelsea made this amazing salted caramel slice and when we tried it we knew we wanted to get her on board.”

And the result?

“It’s insanely good,” says Chelsea. “The double dose of caramel sees the deep roasted, golden caramel - with a hint of burnt sugar - combine beautifully with the sweet notes of silky butterscotch with its old-fashioned toffee flavours, to evoke warm feelings of nostalgia.

“Watching the first batch roll along the production line was a pretty special moment for me. This is the first time I have partnered with a producer to develop a product with my name on it, so it’s pretty exciting to say the least. I can’t wait for people to try it!”

Lewis Road Creamery Fresh Caramel Milk is available from July 6th in all leading supermarkets and specialty food stores nationwide in two recyclable bottle sizes. RRP $6.49 (750ml) and RRP $3.69 (300ml).
