Focus To Receive Callaghan Innovation Project Grant

Focus To Receive Callaghan Innovation Project Grant

Leading South Island-based technology and software company, Focus, has received approval for a significant project grant by Callaghan Innovation.

Over the course of 2016, Focus has been working alongside Callaghan Innovation to gain approval for a project grant that will enable them to further develop their software product, TimeTrak, potentially opening up new international markets.

TimeTrak is Focus’ own developed software product designed to help businesses throughout New Zealand and Australia better manage their jobs, tasks and staff to increase productivity and profitability. The product is particularly suited to trade service organisations such as plumbing and electrical businesses, as well as any other organisations that typically provide services at a customer’s home or business..

Focus CEO and founder, Rod Sinclair said: “We are thrilled to receive this grant as it will allow us to build our product to fit a wider market with much greater speed.”

With the aid of the grant, Focus intends to hire more developers to move ahead with the development of an application programming interface (API) which will allow TimeTrak to integrate with leading cloud-based enterprise systems, MYOB Advanced and Acumatica, as well as developing an offline mobile application to better suit businesses whose staff frequently work out of the office. Currently TimeTrak is only compatible with MYOB EXO.

“We are very eager to get our product communicating with US-based software product, Acumatica, as this will facilitate our move outside of New Zealand and Australia, and allow us to grow our team,” says Rod Sinclair.

“We are currently looking for a new developer to join our team in Invercargill to assist us in the growth and development of our product. This addition will bring our TimeTrak software team up to eight.”

Focus currently has a diverse range of clients throughout New Zealand and Australia, which use its services for an array of professional, innovative and realistic advice on IT, software, network infrastructure consultancy, project management, software development, support services and cloud-based solutions.

“This new grant will open up many more opportunities for us to showcase locally-made technology to the world, as well as allowing us to create new jobs in the region,” says Rod Sinclair.

“We’re very excited by the prospects and grateful for the confidence Callaghan Innovation has demonstrated in the product and the business. .
