Proceed with care - Do your homework
Money Week Media Release Monday 5 September 2016
Proceed with care - Do your homework
“Sustained low interest rates are making borrowing more attractive than ever before”, says Banking Ombudsman Ms Sladden.
“We are seeing a lot of early repayment cases where customers could have saved themselves a lot of heartache and money by understanding what they are signing up for.”
“Last financial year lending related complaints accounted for a third of our cases, so my advice during Money Week is take stock of your finances, make sure you know what you have signed up for and that you have done your homework before you commit to anything.”
The Banking Ombudsman Scheme currently has more than 30 quick guides on its website covering common banking complaints.
