FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New
Zealand insurance broking pioneer
Brian
Mahony joins Wallace McLean as
Director
AUCKLAND, 21 September 2016 – Wallace McLean (to become Wallace McLean Mahony), New Zealand's leading privately NZ-owned risk management and insurance broking company, today announced the appointment of Brian Mahony to the role of Director. The new appointment will compliment and expand Wallace McLean’s expertise in a variety of sectors, including Property/Body Corporates, Professional Liability, Horticultural, Construction, Ports Risk, and Engineering.
Nigel Wallace, Managing Director of Wallace McLean says “Brian Mahony is one of New Zealand’s leading insurance brokers. He has been on the cutting edge of significant innovation over many years within the New Zealand insurance industry, and he has pioneered insurance products and facilities in a diverse range of industries from pharmaceuticals to film production.”
“Brian has a proven track record in relationship building at the highest levels of business, both in New Zealand and internationally. The longevity of those relationships speaks volumes as to his integrity, levels of service and attention to detail. He will be a major addition to our team here at Wallace McLean.”
Brian Mahony says “At my stage of career, I was looking for a firm that gives clients a consistently high level of service and efficiency; a firm that searches the world to find solutions that are the best for clients, rather than present options that simply serve its own interests. And that is the culture of Wallace McLean - something not always achievable in the corporate-owned broking environment.”
Insurance Broking Innovator
Over a 40 year career, Brian has built up long standing commercial relationships with a number of New Zealand’s leading entrepreneurs and successful businessmen in Retail, Property, Pharmaceuticals and Manufacturing.
He established a unique market for US Product Liability insurance for NZ-manufactured FDA approved pharmaceuticals; and he devised and established NZ's most successful and enduring self insurance fund in NZ, covering billions of dollars in property assets. In addition, Brian acted for the Luna Rossa syndicate during its Americas Cup campaigns in New Zealand and the United States. Most recently, Brian introduced a high value, Home and Personal Assets facility to New Zealand.
All in all, Brian has been on the challenging side of broking, devising solutions and finding markets to help clients achieve their objectives.
