RedShield named New Zealand’s Best Security Company

RedShield named New Zealand’s Best Security Company of the Year at 2016 iSANZ Awards

Wellington, New Zealand: Monday, 21st November 2016

Web-application protection specialist RedShield have won Best Security Company of the Year at the 2016 iSANZ Awards. The award goes to the New Zealand security company with superior security products or solutions that help customers tackle today's most pressing InfoSec challenges.

RedShield’s win was announced in front of 200 hundred New Zealand information security professionals during a gala dinner at Mac’s Brewbar in Wellington on November 15.

Commenting on RedShield’s entry, the iSANZ judges said: “Looking into the future, there are two paths for security companies to take in terms of revenue: one is to continue with provision of security consulting services, and the other path is to innovate and address global needs with game-changing innovation. RedShield has done the latter.

“This is the model for Kiwi companies if they truly wish to complete on a global stage without the need to scale up too much on human resources. Companies following the first path will find themselves unable to cope with the growing demand in a sustainable way."

Andy Prow, CEO and Founder of RedShield, says: “RedShield's goal as a company is to help protect and defend companies from the growing threat of cyber attacks. To do so our expert team is constantly monitoring and tuning the shields in front of our customers' apps which are probed daily. This is a fast paced problem, and we have to react just as fast. Winning the iSANZ award is great recognition which we're extremely proud of. I think NZ's cyber-security market has a huge amount to offer globally. This is a many billion dollar market, so it's great to see iSANZ backing this niche high-growth Kiwi sector”.

This was the second year of the iSANZ awards, which were established in 2015 to recognise excellence, innovation and leadership in New Zealand’s information security sector.
