Motorhome owners get “insurance to go” with Covi Connect mobile app

Auckland, 29 November 2016 – Motorhome owners now have an “insurance to go” service with Covi NZMCA Insurance’s launch of Covi Connect, a mobile phone app that gives the key information needed for claims or renewals.

Covi NZMCA Insurance general manager David Culpan says the popularity of getting away in a motorhome or caravan, often for weeks or months at a time, has grown enormously in recent years. “As the population ages, more and more people are getting out and about and enjoying all New Zealand has to offer,” he says.

“With more people spending significant time away from their home base or living permanently on the road it is important they have reliable and easy access to their insurance information. Most motorhomers and caravanners have made a significant investment into their vehicles so, if they are in the unfortunate position of needing to make a claim, having all their information at your fingertips will bring them peace of mind and enable Covi to get them back on the road more quickly.

“Many motorhomers and caravanners keep in touch with family and friends with smart phones and tablets. This technology is much easier to use than it was even five years ago, so developing the innovative Covi Connect App is a logical step in Covi’s drive to provide our clients with the best possible customer service.”

The Covi Connect mobile app:

• Summarises a client’s insurance including sums insured, excesses, expiry date.

• Makes it quick and easy for a client to contact roadside assistance team, their client service contact or claims handler by calling or emailing directly from the app.

• Provides an account balance.

• Summarises open and recently closed claims.

• Provides information about what to do if a client needs to make a claim.

• Enables clients to request a schedule or policy wording for their policies.

• Safeguards security and privacy as only people with validated email addresses will be able to access the app.

Covi Connect is available on both iOS and Android smartphones.

Covi NZMCA Insurance is a specialist motorhome and caravan insurance provided in partnership with the New Zealand Motor Caravan Association.
