BNZ Android Pay launch
AUCKLAND, 1 December, 2016 – “Visa congratulates BNZ on the launch of BNZ Android Pay. BNZ Android Pay is powered by Visa payWave and secured by Visa Token Service which provides a new layer of security for mobile payments.Tokenisation replaces the 16-digit card account number with a unique digital identifier called a "token" that can be used for card payments in the digital world, without exposing a cardholder's more sensitive account information,” says Marty Kerr, country manager, Visa New Zealand and South Pacific.
“A recent Visa survey¹ shows New Zealanders are more comfortable using new digital payment methods. Nearly three quarters (72 per cent) of those surveyed trust that payments made via digital and mobile methods are secure, compared to 51 per cent when these ways to pay first emerged. BNZ Android Pay is another example of secure mobile payment innovation that we’re sure BNZ customers will embrace.”
