GHDWoodhead and Creative Spaces join forces to expand integrated design services in New Zealand
GHDWoodhead has strengthened its integrated architecture and engineering (A+E) practice in Australasia, joining with Creative Spaces, a New Zealand architecture, interior design and fit-out company, from 1 December 2016.
Creative Spaces comprises 27 architects, interior designers, fit-out managers and support staff, based in Auckland, Wellington and Whangarei. Having created some of New Zealand's most dynamic workplaces, the experience of the Creative Spaces team extends to high-profile public spaces, including libraries, schools, healthcare, sport and recreation facilities.
Formed by the addition of the Woodhead team to the existing GHD architecture group in 2014, GHDWoodhead has been named as one of the top five practices in the Australasia region, in the highly regarded World Architecture Top 100 listing.
Russell Hawken, GHDWoodhead Senior Principal, says, “Creative Spaces has developed a strong reputation for regenerating public and commercial environments. These capabilities are a fantastic addition as we strengthen our integrated practice and work with clients to create a better environment for all New Zealanders.
“More and more, clients seek designs that are at the forefront of architectural and interiors practice coupled with engineering and environmental services. An integrated design company appeals because it reduces the clients’ project delivery risk and provides simpler contractual relationships. This is why this approach is becoming increasingly common globally and we are proud to offer it in New Zealand.”
Wanley Simpson, Creative Spaces Managing Director, says, “Our philosophy has always been that people deserve an environment that is comfortable and stimulating. This creative intent will continue to underpin our work as part of the diverse suite of services offered by GHDWoodhead. Both teams share a commitment to listen to clients and recognise and deliver what is important to them. This enables us to design and deliver beyond their expectations.”
GHDWoodhead is an Australasia-based
design company operating globally through the GHD network of
studios and offices. We strive to create inspirational
places and responsive architecture through the design of
landscapes, townscapes, buildings and spaces that simplify
the complexity of contemporary life through intelligent and
thoughtful design. We can bring together landscape
architecture with all design, planning and engineering
disciplines through a holistic process creating design that
is intelligent, responsive, technically elegant and
efficient. Through our fully integrated practice model we
truly shape cities.
