Eagle Technology Group Ltd appoints Mark Allan as CEO.

AUCKLAND – 28th February 2017 –

Eagle Technology Group Ltd has appointed Mark Allan as its Chief Executive Officer. His appointment follows the retirement of its former CEO, Gary Langford, in January.

Mark reports to the Board of Eagle Technology, having previously spent four months as Advisor to the Board. Mark joined Eagle from Downer New Zealand, where he was the Executive General Manager of the Technology Solutions Division, a role he held for seven years.

Mark‘s role at Downer, responsible for Telecommunications, GIS, Power&Gas and Intelligent Transport Solutions, included the implementation of the Esri ArcGIS platform. The project won a Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) award at the Esri International User Conference (2013). Eagle Technology is the distributor for Esri in New Zealand. Mark views his new role as an opportunity to communicate the value of GIS and related technologies to a wider audience, “Smart GIS now has the proven ability to connect people, processes, assets and equipment to deliver improved efficiency, collaboaration, visibility and communication. Real time situational awareness, seamless communication and control are becoming key drivers for the increasing demand from customers to deliver better value, more agility and continuous improvement.”

Duane Eagle, Executive Director, Eagle Technology Group Ltd, says, “Mark’s appointment reflects the direction that Eagle Technology is taking as a full service GIS, Communications and Managed Services provider, a unique position in the NZ market.”

Prior to joining Downer Mark held various executive management and CEO positions, both in New Zealand and overseas. His 35+ years experience, includes a successful track record in general management and hands on commercial experience across a wide range of industries/sectors with cultural and geographic diversity.

Mark is a Bachelor of Social Science (B. Soc. Sc Honours Programme), and has an MBA. He lives in Auckland and is married with four children.
