Christchurch fashion retailer commits to the city centre.
Infinite Definite Boutique opens the doors to its new central city store at 10am on Saturday 20 May.The store is primely located at 246 High Street, opposite The ANZ Centre and amongst an ever growing cluster of well known fashion retailers.
Owner-operators, Jono and Sarah Moran, have run the business in central city Christchurch for more than eight years. The opening of their new High Street store marks a further commitment to the centre of the city they call home.
Infinite Definite first opened its doors in December 2008, less than three hundred metres from their new site. The boutique store traded for just over two years before the February 2011 earthquake struck. In October of that year, Infinite Definite reopened in a container as one of the original tenants in the ReStart Mall and have been trading there since.
With the new store at two and a half times the size of their last store, Infinite Definite can be harrowed as a Christchurch “success story” despite the challenges that independent retailers have faced as a result of the earthquakes and rebuild.
According to co-founder Jono Moran, the boutique has always benefitted from the variety and number of customers that the central city has to offer.
“For us the central city is important as it is the only place within a city that truly and fully interacts with real diversity when it comes to customers, visitors and fellow citizens.”
“We are excited to see other owner-operated businesses begin to or continue to trade in the central city too.”
The new High Street location is a newly built standalone building, in which Infinite Definite will occupy the ground floor tenancy. The location sets the store in the regenerating fashion hub of the city and is surrounded by well-known and soon-to-be opening international fashion brands, new developments and a newly built 570-space car park.
“Our opinion has always been that if we want to see Christchurch’s central city flourish then we want our business to be part of it the whole way.”
“We’re excited to be in the middle of it all. It is somewhere we feel confident we can continue to develop and grow our brand and business, and we are thrilled to be part of shaping the new central city.”
The majority of the new store’s fit out, fixtures and furniture have been handcrafted by owner operator Jono Moran. Moran has chosen to use simple materials and combined beautiful design, functional forms and subtle textures throughout the space.
In the new store fashion lovers can expect to see the introduction of new products and brands as well as the store’s old favourites, such as Twenty Seven Names, Meadowlark, Beau Coops, Kowtow, Wood Wood, Perks and Mini, and Norse Projects.
