MAUI CAPITAL TAKE A MAJORITY SHAREHOLDING IN SMART ENVIRONMENTAL TO FAST TRACK GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES

Smart Environmental is very pleased to announce that it has accepted an offer from New Zealand based private investment company, Maui Capital, to own a seventy five percent shareholding in the business. The remaining shares will be owned by Senior Managers at the company.
“This is a very significant investment by Maui which means we can fast track our growth plans and really compete nationally on a whole new level. It’s a culmination of over twenty years of dedicated focus on growing a business from scratch through strong partnerships and relationships and delivering quality services and innovative solutions in the waste management sector” said Managing Director Grahame Christian.
“Maui is a great fit for us because we share a common growth vision for the company and we have the same business values around partnering and building successful business relationships. This investment signals to the market that we have a strong foundation and a sound business model with a track record of delivery for our council and commercial customers with plenty of scope, opportunity and ability to scale up quickly”.
Smart Environmental is New Zealand’s largest Kiwi owned and operated business in the waste management and environmental services sector delivering contract services to over twelve Territorial Authorities in waste management and parks and reserves activities. Smart also has a significant presence in the commercial waste management sector operating in many parts of New Zealand.
The sale of shares to Maui Capital and its private investors will be completed by the end of August 2017.
