‘Risky business’, topic of first NZBI seminar

‘Risky business’, topic of first NZBI seminar

‘Risky Business –protecting your people, infrastructure, and reputation’, will be the first seminar run by New Zealand Business Intelligence – a Christchurch-based networking group, dedicated to the growth and development of business in New Zealand.

Seminar organiser Scott Wilson says that unlike most business networking groups, the primary goal of NZBI is to educate business leaders. “All members of the group are experts in their field, who are willing to share their knowledge to strengthen each other and the wider business community,” he says.

“Our first seminar covers some of the biggest risks to business – issues involving people, infrastructure and reputation.”

“Bree Catterall (Abbott Group), Mike Tarjomi (Redpaths), and Michele Hider (Priority Communications) are all highly experienced in planning for and managing risk. In just one hour, there should be plenty of pointers for any Canterbury business to take away.

Topics covered by the presenters will include what to do when your business’ reputation is threatened; coping with a major security breach or loss of data; and the benefits of shareholder and key person cover for businesses.

The event will be held at Mona Vale on Wednesday 28 June, starting at 6pm with networking drinks for half an hour. Tickets are $25 per person, with profits to go to NZBI’s young entrepreneurs scholarship.
