First time for heli-travellers night flying charter choppers

New Zealand First for heli-travellers: night flying charter choppers

In the age of unprecedented technology, nothing irks travelers more than not being able to fly due to poor weather conditions.

With ultra-flexibility and passenger luxury in mind, premium helicopter charters services Heletranz are the only company in New Zealand to offer Instrument Flights Rules (IFR) service for high end clientele.

IFR allows pilots to conduct flights solely with reference to the helicopters instruments using GPS and ground-based navigation aids, with visual capabilities required only for take-off and landing. This allows helicopters to fly at night-time and in harsh weather conditions, with reduced risk of cancellations and improved safety.

Heletranz owner and helicopter pilot John Ambler says the service reflects the growing helicopter charter market and a VIP clientele base seeking quality travel experiences with better safety solutions and reassurance.

“It’s exciting to be the first to be able to offer this service in New Zealand. Our high end and corporate clients are increasingly seeking flexible travel options to suit their busy schedules. They no longer have to restrict their flight plans to day time.”

With increasing demand on time, Mr. Ambler says the desire to get from A to B quickly, comfortably and at short notice any time of the day is the driving force behind the rising trend toward helicopters and IFR heli-travel among high rollers.

“People are busier than ever and are passionate about their disdain for time wasted travelling— whether through delays, cancellations or sitting in traffic. Our luxurious Agusta 109S helicopter, which offers superior comfort and unparalleled performance, gets a traveller from the deck of their super yacht moored in Wellington Harbour to the door of their private jet at Auckland Airport in well under two hours. This is the level of service clients are demanding.”

Having the ability to fly with IFR gives travellers added speed, flexibility and reassurance and puts Heletranz at the forefront of luxury travel.
