Southern Response Appoints New Chief Executive

A spokesperson for Southern Response said:

Southern Response, the government-owned company settling Canterbury earthquake insurance claims, has confirmed today that it has appointed Anthony Honeybone as Chief Executive for the final stages of its claim settlement programme.

Mr Honeybone has been General Manager – Claims Settlement at Southern Response since January 2015 and has extensive commercial and customer experience. He replaces Peter Jensen who will take on the role as Chief Executive of Addington Raceway.

Southern Response Board Chair Ross Butler said the Board had undertaken an extensive executive search using an outside search company.

“We had a strong field of internal and external candidates. Anthony impressed the Board with his mix of commercial expertise and community commitment.

“Anthony has already led a number of complex projects during his career and provided pivotal leadership evolving the claims settlement approach at Southern Response. He has a strong commitment to our customers and is perfectly positioned to lead the organisation in the final stages as we work to settle our remaining customers’ claims fairly and as quickly as possible.

“We are positive that his skills, experience, pragmatic approach and passion for Canterbury will serve our customers and the organisation well.

Mr Honeybone said he was looking forward to leading the Southern Response team through an important stage.
