Queenstown Airport monthly passenger traffic report - August 2017
Below is a quick summary of the month’s results compared with the same period last year:
The total number of passengers travelling through the terminal increased 12% on the same month last year to 189,040.
• Domestic traffic was up 13% on August last year.
• International passengers were up 10% compared with last August. See attached latest International Passenger Profile to July 2017.
• The 12-month passenger numbers reached over 1.9 million, up 15% compared to the previous 12 months.
Some key points for August:
• The increase was buoyed by the Audi quattro Winter Games NZ, Gay Ski Week Queenstown and strong international visitor arrivals.
• The first three Saturday’s in August surpassed previous records for the number of International passenger arrivals in one day.
• After dark flights contributed to strong growth in the peak winter season with 11% of total passengers travelling on an after dark service in August.
