2017 marks LayerX Group’s 10 years in business. From a start-up, working out of a home office to a group of companies boxing well above its weight, the LayerX Group has proven to its competitors that it’s here to stay.

Founded by Bruce Trevarthen in 2007, LayerX is a group of companies, headquartered at Waikato Innovation Park in Hamilton, providing cloud-based information technology infrastructure, electronics manufacturing and software development services for New Zealand businesses.

LayerX Cloud Limited, which operates vGRID in New Zealand, placed 415th in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 for Asia Pacific in 2014 after experiencing 108 per cent growth. LayerX Group came 156th in 2014 after 295 per cent growth and 187th in 2013 with 176 per cent growth. The business was ranked 27th in the Deloitte Fast 50 in 2014 having experienced 295 per cent growth, previously being placed 42nd on the Deloitte Fast 50 in 2013 with 176 per cent growth.
