Breakthrough sales with new lone worker monitoring product

The latest lone worker monitoring product, supplied to NZ businesses by Auckland-based Entec has proved extremely popular and has been well received by the industry.

The new technology for lone worker monitoring offered by the NZ instrumentation and gas detection provider, is the Blackline Safety range. Blackline Safety equipment is designed to raise an alarm if the user becomes incapacitated.

Blackline Safety’s point of difference is its unparalleled connectivity. The units can be connected either to a cellular network or – for remote areas without cellular coverage – to a satellite network. Either way, any alerts are transmitted instantly, either to the Blackline 24/7 operations centre or to the customer’s own team.

Using GPS technology, the user’s location is pin-pointed. The operations centre can communicate directly with the user by voice or text messaging, while at the same time initiating the client’s emergency procedures.

Entec has recently won its first two significant sized installations with the Blackline Safety solution. One of these clients, a household name in the utilities sector, has a remotely spread team of technicians who carry out monitoring and maintenance work in very rugged locations; this team is now carrying satellite connected units to help keep them safe.

The other significant client is a large storage and logistics provider, where staff routinely work alone, and often in hazardous locations such as cool stores and around refrigeration plants. This client is also using the optional gas detection functionality of the Blackline Safety units to provide a greater level of assurance over personnel safety.

“This lone worker solution from Blackline Safety is a tremendous complement to our well-proven range of gas detection products,” says Entec managing director Bob Weston.

“Accidents can happen at any time, and these units help to ensure rapid response, even if no-one is around to hear the cries for help.”

Entec is currently pursuing several more substantial opportunities for this award-winning product.
