Pasifika Business Network welcomes Advisory Council

Tuesday 28 August 2018

Pasifika Business Network welcomes PM’s Business Advisory Council announcement

The Wellington Pasifika Business Network welcomes the Government’s announcement of the formation of the Prime Minister’s Business Advisory Council, and is calling for Pacific to be included at the table, says Network Board Chairman Paul Retimanu.

“We absolutely welcome the Prime Minister’s announcement this morning, and thoroughly look forward to being a part of the conversation around how we can both improve and support business confidence in the Pacific community and in Wellington.

“With only 1.6 per cent of Pacific people engaged in business ownership, it is critical to the sustainability and longevity of Pacific business in New Zealand, for Pacific business owners to be involved in the Council’s work programme.” Says Paul Retimanu.

Retimanu believes Pacific people have much to offer and contribute to the Council’s work programme.

“Pacific people are naturally strategic navigators, thinkers and leaders. We want to work collectively with Central Government to navigate the way forward for many of our problem solvers, risk takers and fearless thinkers who are in business.

“This Network want to be a part of identifying emerging challenges, breeding opportunities and scaling New Zealand businesses up, particularly, that of our own in Wellington.

“If you’re not at the table, you’re on the menu!” Says Paul Retimanu.
