Air Chathams Flies Pink
Air Chathams Flies
Pink
If you’re flying
with Air Chathams this month and the next you’ll notice
our pilots and flight attendants are in the pink! As part
of the global aviation initiative, Fly Pink, Air Chathams
pilots swap out their usual epaulettes and replace them with
pink striped epaulettes. Flight attendants also trade their
Air Chathams green scarves for pink.
Fly Pink supports organisations around the world that provide research for breast cancer and saving lives. This year, however there is a twist. Not only will you see the pink stripes but also a “moustauchioed” pink ribbon on their lapel. In a combined project, Fly Pink is extending its support to “Movember” and prostate cancer awareness as well.
Adrian Ali, Commercial Manager, for Air Chathams introduced the airline to the initiative in 2017 following his experience with the initiative in Fiji. “The Air Chathams Family welcomes your support as we take the awareness of PINKTOBER and MOVEMBER to the skies. All donations collected on board will be forwarded to Breast Cancer Foundation of New Zealand and Prostate Cancer Foundation of NZ,” says Adrian.
Air Chathams is one of 23 airlines globally supporting this initiative and encourages other New Zealand airlines to do the same.
