Ebert creditors vote to change liquidators

Today, Ebert Construction’s creditors voted to replace Grant Thornton New Zealand as liquidator for the construction company, and have appointed BDO in their place.

David Ruscoe, National Director of Financial Advisory Services at Grant Thornton New Zealand said that, “The creditors have exercised their right to change liquidators. Our investigation into Ebert Construction was well underway before the vote and we identified several areas that require further investigation. The next steps for us will be to ensure a smooth transition, and this will involve handing over our findings to date.

“A change in liquidators isn’t an uncommon occurrence in our industry; this was the case in July this year when we replaced the liquidators of H Construction North Island (formerly Hawkins Construction).

“Regardless of who the liquidator is, we hope that the best possible outcome is achieved for all of Ebert Construction’s creditors”, said Ruscoe.
